Fobo Bright
I am an artist, a dreamer and a creator. I see things in inanimate objects or otherwise uninspiring moments. I have been exhibiting my artwork and photography since the early 1980s.
In 1992 I graduated from Dartington College of Arts with a BA (Hons) degree: Art in a Social Context, specializing in photography and print. Since then, I have gained a number of qualifications and photographic commissions over the years. I have exhibited nationally, including Ireland, I also have work in collections around the world. In addition to this, I have achieved a number of awards and have had my photographs printed in various magazines in England, Ireland and France.
My photographic works are often creatively molded, impressionistic images. I use a variety of painterly and digitally manipulating techniques whilst, simultaneously, retaining the original feel of the photographic starting point. My intention is not to simply capture what is there, but to create an emotion or feeling for the viewer. My preferred subject is abstraction and deliberate juxtaposition of form and light. But I can be equally at home with the more traditional side of photography such as landscape, portrait, street and reportage.
