I am a local artist who grew up loving the joys of anything creative. From a young age I have developed my appreciation for art through my parents own creations and my love of colour. After studying art for two years at Yeovil College I went on to work at a picture framers for many years, it was here I had the opportunity to become a specialist finisher and gilder which included learning the skills of frame restoration.
Having given up work to raise my family, I was unable to continue with my passion for creating as my children became my new passion. Now with my children all at school I have been able to rekindle my passion and joy of art and all things creative, working on commissions using various styles and forms from pop art to pastels and acrylics.
My work concentrates predominantly on subjects of people and wildlife. I am exploring various new techniques and mediums within my art, most recently I have done a series of needle felted animals both two dimensional and three dimensional, I have drawn on my expertise and knowledge of gilding to add colour and texture in my recent work using nature as my inspiration.
